Wisbech Town HC AGM

Friday April 22nd 2022 - 7PM for 7:30PM

Wisbech Town Hockey Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday 22nd April 2022, at Wisbech Cricket & Hockey Club, Harecroft Road, Wisbech, PE13 1RR.

Attendees are asked to arrive at 7PM, ready for a prompt start at 7:30PM.

PROCEDURE FOR ELECTION OF CLUB OFFICERS AND TEAM OFFICIALS.

1.1 Candidates for the posts of Club and team officials shall be nominated in writing to the Secretary of the Joint Committee in the case of overall Club officials or in the case of section  (i.e. cricket or hockey) officials to the secretary of that section.

1.2 A nomination form will be used as per the attached and it must be fully completed.

1.3 The nomination form must be submitted not less than 10 days prior to the date set for the meeting at which the vote is to take place

2.1 In the instance where more than one person has been so nominated for a position then there shall be an election by secret ballot among the eligible electorate held at the Annual General Meeting of the Club as a whole or such meeting of the relevant section of the Club as the case requires.

2.2 The successful candidate shall be the person who obtains the most votes under the above procedure on a first past the post basis.

2.3 In the event of the same number of votes being cast in respect of more than one nominee then a candidate for election may withdraw their candidature or the nomination will be decided by the toss of a coin.

3.1 In the instance whereby a position needs filling as a matter of urgency or expediency a person may be appointed to that position on a short term ad hoc basis by a responsible officer of the Club. This clause is intended to cover unexpected absence caused by illness etc.

3.2 If clause 3.1 above is invoked then the instance must be reported to the relevant Secretary (i.e. general joint or section) so a decision can be made as to the steps to be taken which may include an election using the procedures above
